Noel John, FCQI CQP

Noel John, a Fellow of the CQI, has been a member for 21 years and has spent a lot of his recent career in the rail industry. Noel is currently Signalling Senior Validation and Verification Engineer at Network Rail for the Signalling Design Group. Previous roles include Head of HSQE, Amey Rail Bristol, Quality Director PKL Group, Cheltenham and Quality Engineering and Inspection in the Aerospace Industry.

I joined the CQI (then IQA) as an Associate in 1988. Later, by following their qualification route at my local college for higher education in Gloucestershire and distance learning, it enhanced both my engineering and management qualifications and allowed me to specialize in quality systems and management. 

I would not have the position I hold today, nor would I have had such a successful career in quality, safety and environmental management had I not followed the CQI route.
 
I became so interested in the CQI and its goals and objectives that I quickly became a local committee member, then an education officer and am now Chairman of the Gloucester Branch. We are constantly working together to encourage existing and potential new members to attend our events and benefit from this free education and networking; it is this that I value most at this point in my career!

Being Chartered validates the quality profession and positions it alongside other professions - it’s important that the quality profession is recognized in this way. I love Qualityworld, it provides me with valuable updates and information.

I would recommend CQI membership to other quality professionals particularly for the networking opportunities it gives – something that has been invaluable to my career.
