CQI South Western
The CQI's presence in the south west of England and in Wales.
Aims of the region
To provide leadership and co-ordination, within the Region, of its Branch member resources to:
- Ensure a programme of activities are organised to meet the declared needs of the members in the Region.
- Contribute to determining the Institute’s objectives, plans and targets, particularly as articulated in its Business Plan and the supplement prepared by the Branches and Regions Board.
- Contribute to delivery of the outputs of those Business Plan in those aspects appropriate to the Region and its Branches resources by developing local plans and implementing them locally.
- Work creatively to maximise the contribution of their Region and Branch volunteers to the furtherance of the Institute’s aims, and to ensure that those volunteers are motivated and recognised for their contribution.
- Identify what resources are required, and use their best endeavours to obtain the resources required to enable the agreed programme of activities to be delivered.

South Western region plan for 2009
We will endeavour to achieve the following objectives in the year ahead:

Revive the Wessex Branch.

Halt the decline of the South Western and Devon and Cornwall Branches.

Align branch activities with the success criteria used in making Branch awards.

Develop and launch a regional web presence that advertises our branch and regional activities.

Centralise the branch budgets and accounts, and appoint a regional treasurer.

Representative to attend each BRB meeting and work towards a greater alignment between what branches and regions in parellel to the CQI objectives.

Deliver budgets and reports of the required standard to central office on time.

Support the aims of the CQI as translated through BRB objectives and plans.
Regional events
World Quality Day
Regrettably we have had to cancel the WQD event planned for 4 November in Bristol. However, we have scheduled an evening event on 24 November with three speakers in Chepstow for members of Wales, Gloucester and Avon Branches. Further details can be found in the events section.
