The Certification & Audit Process by Paul French from AJA Registrars

Paul French from AJA Registrars talked to members and gave a presentation on the accredited certification industry, the certificate process and audit process. This included several anecdotes and was based on the quality environment and other International Management System Standards.

He advised what costs were involved to get accreditation and to retain it each year, plus showed a guide of the "man days" needed for auditing, as set out by the IAF (International Accreditation Forum), depending on the complexity of type of business. He also advised that there is only one accreditation body in the EU approved by the Government, and that UKAS is that body.
