New improved Defence Industry Group web pages
The Defence Industry Group’s website has been updated and includes more information on what is going on across the Defence Sector. This includes:
We are looking to make this the first stop for quality matters across the defence sector and will constantly be reviewing and improving it. If you have any comments or suggestions, we invite you to post these on the DIGs Linked-In discussion forum.
Your role in raising the profile of quality and the quality professional
It is essential that the Defence Sector has a common approach and methodology for defining the Quality function and the professional role its Quality Practitioners play in that. The DIG is undertaking that task on behalf of the Defence Industries Quality Forum (DIQF) who have objectives to improve Quality Professional Competence and Quality ownership by others and to undertake briefings to senior people to gain support for the Quality Agenda in Defence.
A series of actions are being undertaken by the CQI Defence Industry Group (DIG) with the eventual output being a common framework for the development and assessment of competence and capability of the Quality Professional. This will include competence sets and associated Learning and Development solutions.
- The first has been the production of the Prospectus for Confidence launched at the Dec 2010 event. This document is designed to help you promote the role of quality within your organization. A number of organizations are using this to communicate the unique role that quality plays and the benefit it provides in terms of providing confidence for the organization and its customers, and driving the agenda for change and improvement. If you would like free hard copies of the A5 document, please send your request to vdesmond@thecqi.org
- The second is to develop the virtuous circle expressed in the Prospectus for Confidence into a statement of competences for quality professionals to ensure a common approach across the industry. You can view the high level competences (level 1 and 2) here. Levels 3 and 4 are now being reviewed and will be distributed for comments by DIG members later this year. If you have a comment or suggestion please contact us or join the discussion on the DIGs Linked-In discussion forum.
