Mission

Vision

Acknowledged leadership on committees formed to advance standards in the field of quality management.

SDG volunteer opportunity

We are seeking quality professionals with the relevant experience and commitment to be able to represent the CQI on BSI Committees in the future development of standards in the field of quality management and quality assurance. These positions may involve foreign travel attending ISO meetings for up to a week at a time. If you are interested please contact David Hoyle.

Membership

Participation in the development of national and international standards is open to everyone and we have created three classes of member to accommodate different levels of committment and expertise.

Interested parties:Those with an interest in national and international standards who wish to influence their development but don't have the time for greater commitment and merely wish to share their views and experiences may do so on the Standards Development Forum which is accessible to the general public.

Ordinary members: CQI members with an interest in national and international standards who wish to influence their development with sufficient expertise and time to examine draft standards and provide constructive comment and suggestions for improvement. Ordinary members may view draft standards and participate in discussions on the SDG Members Forum which is accessible to CQI members only. To join the Standards Development Group as an ordinary member please register.

Committee members: Ordinary members with sufficient expertise and commitment to represent the CQI on national standards committees and contribute to achieving the goals of the SDG. These members may also be elected by the national standards body to represent the UK on international committees. Committee members may view committee documents and participate in discussions on the SDG Committee Forum which is accessible to CQI members only. Committee members are elected by the SDG Committee through a selection process. Applications to join the committee should be addressed to the Chair (see below).

I addition there is now an SDG Forum on Linkedin where SDG members only may discuss topics related to standards posted on the CQI SDG Members Forum. The reason for separate sites is that we need to control access to draft standards that are BSI Copyright and Linkedin is more user friendly for discussion purposes.

We are currently reviewing our register of members and request that CQI members interested in joining the Standards Development Group (SDG) re-register so we have up to date details that enable us to contact you when setting up internal Standards Working Groups.
