Mike Debenham
After ten years at the CQI, Mike Debenham has stepped down as CQI policy adviser. Mike joined the executive in order to give something back to the quality profession and has been instrumental in many developments.
Mike supported the Professional Policy Board in creating the CQI’s Body of Quality Knowledge and was extremely active in supporting the CQI’s successful application to the Privy Council for Chartered quality professional status for our Member and Fellow grades.
Simon Feary, CQI CEO, said: “Mike’s contributions have been significant in getting the CQI to where it is today, especially his contributions to the development of our governance. He will be missed greatly and I speak for the whole of the institute when I wish him luck in all his future endeavours.”
Mike will continue working with CQI Training, developing and delivering training courses and has returned to his work as a quality consultant and trainer. We wish Mike every success in the future.
John Davies
Dr John Davies, CQI Fellow and former chair of the subcommittee ISO/TC 176 responsible for quality management systems, SC2, has retired from his role as vice-chairman of the CQI Board of Trustees.

He spent more than 40 years supporting a number of committees and was involved with the formation of both the International Register of Certificated Auditors and the British Quality Foundation.
When presenting John with a thank you gift at the December AGM, Peter Bennett, chair of the Board of Trustees, said: ‘The Board wishes to convey its thanks to John for many years of valuable service in many influential and significant positions.
'John has a member of the CQI for 52 years and this is a tremendous record of service for which we are indebted.’
