CQI Member (MCQI CQP)

For those professionals who have quality as a key discipline or as the focus of their work. The Member (MCQI) grade will recognise your professional competence and put you on equal terms with other chartered professionals, increasing your status and potential for career progression.

Requirements

Work experience

You need at least five years' quality management or systems experience, two of which should be in a managerial or supervisory capacity (including the management of people, processes or systems).

Competence

You need to demonstrate knowledge of the Body of Quality Knowledge (BoQK). There are two routes to demonstrate this: the qualification route or the experiential route.

  • View the acceptable qualification list (PDF) to check whether your degree or high-level qualification is recognised by the CQI (qualifications and courses not specified within the current list of accredited courses can undergo an individual academic review in order to determine eligibility

Experiential route (in addition to work experience) 

For this route, you need to submit a portfolio of evidence (qualifications, training and experience) addressing the following six competence areas:

  • General quality principles
  • Quality leadership
  • Reducing cost and supporting improvement and innovation
  • Customer focus and partnerships
  • Conformity, regulation and risk
  • Corporate care and responsibility

It is also possible to gain CQI membership through special routes, such as the MOD or Qualified Person schemes.

Qualification route application fee: £63
Experiential route application fee: £87
Annual subscription fee: £130

The above fees are applicable to 31 December 2012. Annual renewals of membership fees run on a calendar year beginning 1 January. All annual fees are discounted as we progress through the year.
