Dr Mark Thistlethwaite, MCQI CQP

Dr Mark Thistlethwaite has been a CQI member since 2006. He is currently working as a compliance manager at Trelleborg Industrial.

I’ve been a member of the CQI since 2006 and a Chartered Quality Professional since late 2008. I joined the CQI because the President of Trelleborg Industrial AVS wanted the company’s quality representative - me - to have recognized quality status.

Working as a compliance manager at a manufacturing firm, quality, engineering and environmental concerns all come into my role. It was imperative for me to have chartered status as this gives me the same recognition for the quality part of my role as I have in other parts of my job as a Chartered Environmentalist and Engineer. The key result I am looking for in my membership is this recognition from the quality profession.

Having chartered status is vital for members individually, but also for the CQI as an institution, as it will help raise the level of recognition of the quality profession in the business world. I’m delighted to see the CQI is working hard to promote its chartered status.

I am branch secretary for the Leicester and Coventry branch of the CQI and the networking opportunities at branch level are very important to me.

I would recommend CQI membership for the networking opportunities but also for the recognition on a professional and personal level that Chartered Quality Professional status gives.
