MOD scheme
In conjunction with the DQAA (Defence Quality Assurance Authority) within the Ministry of Defence, the CQI now offers a fast-track application route to the CQI individual membership. This applies to those who have completed the MOD Quality Practitioner licence process.

The CQI is the UK's only professional body for quality professionals recognised by government with a chartered status. CQI membership offers you:

Which CQI grade?
Your level of MOD Quality Practitioner licence will dictate the grade of membership you apply for. The details of this are as follows:
- Provisional licence holders are eligible for the CQI Associate (ACQI) grade
- Interim licence holders are eligible for the CQI Associate (ACQI) grade
- Full licence holders are eligible for the CQI Member (MCQI) grade
The CQI also offers the grade of Fellow.
Individuals without the MOD License are welcome to apply via the usual routes.
How to apply
Once you have selected the appropriate CQI grade, you can apply by providing us with the following:
- A completed CQI application form for MCQI via the experiential route with the appropriate supporting signatures and noting which grade you wish to apply for (in this case, the MOD Licensed Quality Practitioner 'experiential' route)
- Your Quality Practitioner Ministry Of Defence License certificate
- A confirmation letter illustrating you have undertaken the Government Quality Assurance license scheme
- A discounted application fee
Once we have received your application, we will evaluate it and - if completed - we will send confirmation of your grade and your first year's subscription fee.
Changing your CQI grade
Once you have achieved CQI membership you may wish to regrade. If you have recently upgraded to the MOD Full licence, you may apply to upgrade your CQI membership to Member level. To do this, please complete the application form, (noting that you wish to upgrade) and provide the following:
- Your Full Quality Practitioner Ministry Of Defence License certificate
- A confirmation letter illustrating you have undertaken the Government Quality Assurance license scheme
- A reduced transfer fee
If you wish to upgrade from Member to Fellow, you will need to complete the application form and provide the evidence for the Fellow grade plus the usual transfer fee.
