Qualified Person route
In partnership with the Pharmaceutical Quality Group (PQG), the CQI now offers a fast-track application route to CQI individual membership.
This route applies to those who are Qualified Persons or Trainee Qualified Persons as approved via the UK Joint Professional Bodies.

Which CQI grade?
Your level of experience will dictate the grade of membership you apply for. The details of this are as follows:
Chartered Fellow CQP
(FCQI CQP) |
Qualification requirement
Qualified Person route: Eligible to act as a Qualified Person assessed via the UK Joint Professional Bodies (Royal Society of Chemistry, Royal Institute of Biology and Royal Institute of Pharmacy).
Work experience requirement
At least five years' quality management or systems experience.
Have held a senior management position and able to demonstrate evidence of expertise.
Continuing professional development
Required to maintain Chartered status. |
Chartered Member CQP
(MCQI CQP) |
Qualification requirement
Qualified Person route: Eligible to act as a Qualified Person assessed via the UK Joint Professional Bodies (Royal Society of Chemistry, Royal Institute of Biology and Royal Institute of Pharmacy).
Work experience requirement
Five years' quality/regulatory related experience, two of which should be in a managerial or supervisory capacity.

Practitioner
(PCQI) |
Qualification requirement
Eligible to act as a Qualified Person assessed via the UK Joint Professional Bodies (Royal Society of Chemistry, Royal Institute of Biology and Royal Institute of Pharmacy).

Two years' work experience in a quality related role.

How to apply
Follow the below steps to membership:
- Download and complete the CQI membership application form
- Complete your personal details and tick the box stating you’re are applying via the Qualified Person route
- You will need your application to be signed by a referee who has read and verified the evidence you are submitting
- Attach evidence to your application that you are eligible to act as a Qualified Person assessed via the UK Joint Professional Bodies (Royal Society of Chemistry, Royal Institute of Biology and Royal Institute of Pharmacy)
- Attach evidence of any training you have undertaken with an approved training provider if appropriate
- Work experience evidence – this could be a cv verified and signed by your referee
- Attach the relevant application fee depending on the grade applied for
Not a Qualified Person yet but have completed relevant training or qualifications?
The CQI will accept other routes to membership if you have completed the relevant training and qualifications.
