Statement on situation in Japan from Simon Feary, Director IRCA, Chief Executive CQI

Date: 18 March 2011

Our thoughts and sympathies go out to the Japanese people and all our customers, colleagues and friends in Japan at this difficult time. I am sure I speak for all our staff and our 14,000 IRCA and 10,000 CQI members across the world by saying how humbled we are in witnessing the dignity and resilience of the Japanese people as they struggle to recover from the events of the last ten days.

I would like to thank publicly our IRCA colleagues in Tokyo who have resumed work, despite very difficult circumstances, and to extend our thanks to all our customers and partners in Japan who have taken the time to contact us and who are continuing to work with our team in Japan under these difficult circumstances. Thanks to this hard work and determination by our team in Japan, the IRCA Japan office remains open, but we hope you understand that our level of service may continue to be a little disrupted by the current circumstances.

I am certain that the strength and determination of the Japanese people and your culture of quality and improvement will help Japan recover. In the meantime, our thoughts are with you.
