World Quality Day

The CQI, the UK’s only chartered body for quality professionals, and NQA, a leading certification body, have joined forces to celebrate World Quality Day taking place on 12 November 2009.

Introduced in 1990 to increase awareness of quality internationally, World Quality Day encourages individuals and organisations to focus on the importance of quality, growth and prosperity and demonstrate their commitment to quality.

Vince Desmond, executive director of business development at the CQI, comments: 'After the success of last year’s events, the CQI wants to continue this achievement by encouraging organisations worldwide to run events or participate in one of the regional events organised by CQI branches. We’re delighted that once again NQA is supporting our work in promoting quality through its sponsorship of World Quality Day.'

The CQI has teamed up with Sellafield to promote World Quality Day at Sellafield in the week of World Quality Day, on Wednesday 11 November. The day has an impressive schedule that includes some of the country’s most respected speakers on quality. 

The CQI annual John Loxham lecture will also take place at Sellafield on 11 November, where Mr David Hutchins, CEO of Dhi Ltd, will introduce the strategic approach to business improvement ‘Hoshin Kanri’.
