Call for nominations for chairs of CQI boards

Call for nominations for the chairs of the three subordinate boards to the CQI Board of Trustees from the Chair of the Nominating Committee, Dr John Davies

This call for nominations is being issued under the new arrangements for filling vacancies in our Governance structure set out in the regulations of our Charter.

Three vacancies have arisen on the three subordinate Boards to the CQI Board of Trustees

Chair of the Branches and Regions Board (BRB)
This Board is broadly responsible for managing the activities of the CQI's branches and regions to ensure that they support the CQI's 5 Year Plan and work within the administrative schedules
Chair of the Professional Policy Board (PPB)
This Board is broadly responsible for maintaining the CQI's body of quality knowledge and developing CQI policy and positions on matters of national interest
Chair of the Qualification Board (QB)
This Board is charged with the oversight of the integrity and relevance of the CQI's educational qualifications, membership qualifications and assessment processes

These appointments carry an automatic appointment to the CQI Board of Trustees and the successful candidate will be expected to commit time to attending the four meetings of their subordinate board plus the four meetings of the Board of Trustees.

Who may be nominated

It is anticipated that candidates will be members or fellows of the CQI but candidates from our principal stakeholders, e.g. employers of quality professionals, academia, etc and who can demonstrate that they can contribute to the future of the CQI will be considered.

Candidates should be able to commit the necessary time to attend both the subordinate board meetings and the Board of Trustees meetings.

Candidates should have competencies appropriate to chairing the Board in which they are interested.

Who may nominate

Members and Fellows of the CQI may nominate individuals for these positions.

There is no restriction on the number of candidates you may nominate for these positions. However you should ensure that your nominee is willing to stand. The nominating committee will seek formal confirmation from each candidate who is selected to go forward to Council for the ballot.

Nominations should be a maximum of 1 page (A4) in length and should set out the nominee's area(s) of expertise and current activity, career track record and committee/policy experience. Please ensure that the nominee is aware of and agrees to nomination.

The process of selection

The nominating committee will review all nominations; identify suitable candidates; submit the names of the suitable candidates for consideration by the Council at their meeting on 17 September 2008.
