Technical Manager

The CQI is looking for a Quality professional to join their operations team in London. This post is key to ensuring the integrity of CQI's assessment processes for the Membership, Certification and Education activities within the UK and Overseas. As the CQI's resident technical expert the post holder will need to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of all certification and registration programmes operated under the CQI and IRCA brands, apply internal auditing skills and be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of Quality principles and their application. Other responsibilities include maintaining UKAS accreditation, ISO 9001 certification and supporting activities.
The Technical Manager will be responsible for managing the technical experts contracted to perform the assessments. In addition he/she will represent the CQI's interest on various industry committees and must be able to communicate credibly within these environments.
It is anticipated the successful candidate will have a quality and auditing background, possibly with direct experience of membership or personnel certification schemes and will be familiar with competence and competence indicators. He/she will be an effective communicator at all levels within the CQI and be confident in the use of IT packages.
