London Excellence Awards 2008
The CQI is pleased to be presenting the awards in partnership with London Excellence.
The closing date for entries to the London Excellence awards and UK Quality Leader of the year has now passed. To find out who the successful entrants are, why not book a place at this year's Awards Dinner.
Gala dinner
21 July, Lord's Cricket Ground, London
Winners of the 2008 CQI and London Excellence Awards will be announced at a prestigious ceremony and gala dinner on 21 July at Lords, the 'home of cricket'.
This event is a celebration of excellence providing an accessible forum to meet and mix with the leaders and innovators that are shaping our future. The ceremony brings together awards finalists and entrants, but also other organisations engaged in improvement and excellence. And for finalists this is the perfect forum to recognise and celebrate your team's achievements.
With more than 100 people involved as assessors, team leaders and judges, these Awards are renowned for their rigour and the robust assessment and judging process.

The London Excellence Awards
The awards are based on EFQM Excellence Model, but unlike other excellence awards programmes, the award categories are based on the fundamental concepts of excellence which are common to all quality systems.
Awards are made in the following categories:
- Results focus
- Customer focus
- Leadership
- Management systems
- People involvement and development
- Innovation and learning
- Making partnerships work
- Corporate social responsibility
- Best micro business (< 10 staff)
- Best small business (< 25 staff)
- Ambassadors Blue Riband

The CQI Quality Leader of the Year
Each year the individual who has achieved outstanding success in the field of quality is presented with this award and joins an elite group of previous winners: the UK Quality Leaders.
UK Quality Leaders act as a reference point for good practice in quality improvement in industry, commerce and public service. Specifically they will:
- act as CQI ambassadors for good practice
- write articles in quality periodicals, industry/commerce/public service newsletters and magazines, regional and national press
- contribute to the CQI quality leadership website
- speak at seminars and conferences, including CQI company members events
- work as part of the UK Quality Leaders Group to exchange good practice.
The UKQL Group will be usually led for one year by the previous year's UK Quality Leader.
