ISTO ISO 9000:2000 Examinations

The ISTO Examinations provide a method for individuals to demonstrate their understanding of international and other standards. As ISTO's UK partner, the CQI is pleased to offer these examinations to quality professionals.

The CQI is the UK partner of the International Standards Testing Organisation (ISTO) and is the only association in the UK able to offer ISTO examinations. ISTO examinations are globally recognised qualifications and are well respected within the industry.

What is ISTO?

  • founded in Switzerland in January 2001 ISTO provides independent, worldwide tests of understanding of standards
  • provides a series of examinations in ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001:2004
  • ISO 9001:2000 examination accepted by the International Register of Certificated Auditors as an alternative to the ISO 9000:2000 foundation course
  • technical advisory board includes internationally recognised experts
  • set up to be technically demanding but unambiguous and impartial
  • committees drawn from ISTO's worldwide partners

What are the benefits of taking ISTO examinations?

Passing the ISTO examination brings professional and organisational benefits:

What does the ISTO examination consist of?

  • 4 part examination lasting three hours
  • one part multiple choice: select one from five
  • one part multiple choice based on true/false logic
  • one part case study with multiple choice answers
  • essay chosen from specific topics related to the ISO 9000 or ISO 14000 series (inspected copies of standards are permitted in the exam)
