Lead Assessor
BRE Global, who operates the LPCB and BRE Certification brands, is one of the world's leading fire and security research, consultancy, testing and approvals organisations. With customers in over 40 countries, our LPCB Red Book is used by insurers, regulators, clients and specifiers worldwide to select the products and services they use for fire and security protection.
This vacancy is home based and will involve extensive travel both within the United Kingdom and internationally assessing to the requirements of ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001, BS OHSAS 18001 and our own FPC (Factory Production Control) procedures
We are currently looking to recruit a full time experienced lead assessor (preferably IRCA, EMS / QMS registered) ideally from an Environmental or Health and Safety Management Systems background, with a Lead Assessor qualification in either or both of the above. Experience in electronics, fire, security and sustainability would also be an advantage.
Skills and Competence for role:
- Good interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills and a commitment to team work.
- Ability to work with clients and colleagues, whilst maintaining the required level of diplomacy, integrity and confidentiality.
- Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent in an Engineering or Science related subject, with experience from the Engineering industry.
- Qualified ISO 9001:2000 and either ISO 14001 or BS OHSAS 18001 Lead Assessor
- Experience using computer based systems for email and electronic audit reports will be an integral part of the role.
- A qualification in ISO 14001 and/or OHSAS 18001 will be required.
Responsibilities:
- Identification of problems in production and delivery of services and taking appropriate action
- Production of visit reports on time using the technology provided
- Identification of non compliances and acting as appropriate
- Promotion of the skills and services of BRE Global
- Effective management of a client base and visit schedule
- Training new staff when required
- Participation in meeting the business objectives of BRE Global
- Development and delivery of new customers and services
