Quality Engineer
c. £30k plus bonus and excellent benefits
Devro (Scotland) Limited is a market leading, technologically advanced manufacturer of collagen products for the food industry, employing 450 employees over two sites in the west of Scotland, near Glasgow. We are constantly seeking to maintain and enhance the quality of our systems and processes. In this broad-ranging role you will be at the heart of this - working to provide internal quality auditing to ensure compliance with the Devro Quality System, taking responsibility for performance improvement and developing a full understanding of process variation and capabilities.
More specifically, you will conduct internal audits to ensure critical processes are carried out to the agreed standards, maintain our supplier Quality Assurance programme and support maintenance of the HACCP plan and of the technical administration and documented quality system functions. You'll also be responsible for developing a data driven approach to identify and implement product and process improvements and will attend development and review meetings and provide accurate reports of all work carried out.
You should have relevant experience, gained within a similar QA engineering role, of dealing with SQA, CRM, customer questionnaires and labelling requirements. Food manufacturing experience would be advantageous, but any relevant quality/process background will be considered. Excellent problem-solving and quality improvement skills (preferably Six Sigma, green or black belt) are also required, whilst a working knowledge of ISO9000:2000, BRC requirements and HACCP/Food Safety principles would also be an advantage.
