Gilbert Gilkes & Gordon Ltd is a very well established manufacturing company based in Kendal, Cumbria. Employing around 120 people at the Kendal site, we manufacture a range of sophisticated pumps for the cooling of diesel engines and supply many of the world's major diesel engine manufacturers. In addition the Company is a world leader in small hydro power systems for the generation of electricity from water. In its 150 year history, the Company has supplied over 6,500 turbines to 80 different countries.
Quality Manager
The Company has a vacancy for a Quality Manager to work out of the Kendal site. Duties will include: managing and maintaining the ISO 9001:2000 and ISO/TS 16949:2002 Quality Management Systems, communicating with customers and suppliers on Quality related issues and leading the Company's Quality Auditing Team.
Ideally, you should have experience of working within a manufacturing environment with a sound knowledge of the ISO 9001:2000 standard. Also knowledge of the ISO/TS16949 standard would be beneficial; however, training will be given to an appropriate candidate, if necessary. The position does require the individual to travel both within the UK and the Rest of the World. This is a real opportunity to participate in the manufacturing development of a well established company. Gilkes has recently invested in new manufacturing plant, a process that is set to continue.
There is an excellent package available including a starting salary of circa £30,000 plus benefits.
