Guidance for IRCA Lead Auditors applying for MCQI using the experiential route
The CQI recognises that IRCA certified lead auditors have a very specific set of competencies which could provide some form of credits for lead auditors wishing to become members of the CQI (MCQI) using the experiential route.
Guidelines have therefore been prepared setting out how these competencies may be used in presenting a portfolio of evidence for assessment using the experiential route to MCQI.
In addition to the guidance notes applicants should read the FAQs and in particular the following:
- Q: How much evidence must I submit?
- A: Sufficient to show that you have some experience of a particular element. Do not send in volumes of quality manuals and procedures. The contents pages of a document should suffice, but annotate it with a note on your part in its production. Ask a colleague, client or a senior member of staff to confirm your involvement.
- Q: Do I need some evidence for every element of the Body of Quality Knowledge?
- A: No. The assessors will be looking for a cross-section of knowledge and experience that indicates you are a rounded quality professional. Don't be put off if you don't have evidence for all the elements, no one ever will. But you must address all six modules of the BoQK.
