CQI Individual Membership for licensed MOD Quality Practitioners
In conjunction with the DQAA (Defence Quality Assurance Authority) within the Ministry of Defence, the CQI now offers a fast track application route to the CQI individual membership for those who have completed the MOD Quality Practitioner licence process.

Which CQI grade?
The grade of CQI membership that you apply for will depend on the level of licence granted to you under the MOD Quality Practitioner licence scheme.
- Provisional licence holders are eligible for the CQI Associate (ACQI) grade
- Interim licence holders are eligible for the CQI Associate (ACQI) grade
- Full licence holders are eligible for the CQI Member (MCQI) grade
The CQI also offers Student and Fellow grades. Please see the details of these grades if you feel they may be more suitable. Individuals who have not had the opportunity to complete the MOD License are welcome to apply via the usual alternative membership application routes.
How to apply
Once you have selected the appropriate CQI grade, you can apply by providing us with your application as follows:
- A completed CQI application form for MCQI via the experiential route with the appropriate supporting signatures and noting which grade you wish to apply for*
- Your Quality Practitioner Ministry Of Defence License certificate
- A Confirmation Letter illustrating you have undertaken the Government Quality Assurance license scheme and assessment report
- A discounted application fee
* Please indicate on the CQI membership application form that you are applying via the MOD Licensed Quality Practitioner (experiential) route.
Once we have received your application, we will evaluate it and, as long as the submission is complete, we will send your confirmation of your grade and your first year's subscription fee.
Changing your CQI grade
Once you have achieved CQI membership you may wish to regrade.
If you have changed from the MOD Provisional or Interim licence to the Full licence, you may apply to upgrade your CQI membership to the CQI Member level. To do this, please complete the application form as above, noting that you wish to upgrade and provide the following:
- Your Full Quality Practitioner Ministry Of Defence License certificate
- A confirmation letter illustrating you have undertaken the Government Quality Assurance license scheme and assessment report
- A reduced transfer fee
If you wish to upgrade from Member to Fellow, you will need to complete the application form and provide the evidence for the Fellow grade and the usual transfer fee.
