The CQI has recognised that support can be provided for the various sectors of the UK economy by developing sector specific schemes for membership (MCQI) of the Institute which take account of the education and training backgrounds of peopleworking in those sectors.

We are developing a series of sector schemes. The first of these is the Army Scheme which has been developed in cooperation with both DETS(A) and there is an additional route for REME tradesmen which takes account of the quality management content of their trade training.

We have now also developed guidelines for our experiential route to membership which recognises the skills and knowlege possessed by IRCA registered Lead Auditors. Lead Auditors applying via the experiential route are encouraged to look at our guidance when building their portfolio of evidence.
