This promises to be a very interesting and worthwhile evening – Dr Richard Daw comes back to us by popular demand – getting straight to the heart of the NHS and Quality Management.

Environmental management in the service sector, and a paperless EMS

Monday 24 November at 6:30pm

Joint Guest Speakers – Bob Hughes and Jo Dowdall from the Birmingham branch of the CQI.

Jo will present an intuitive and interesting insight into how Environmental Management interacts head on with the Service Sector and illustrates a brand new recently implemented ISO 14001 system, whilst Bob tops up the evening with an illustrative view of a unique paperless fully accredited system that is used to manage environmental aspects in a demanding manufacturing organisation that suppliers direct tier 1 to the automotive vehicle manufacturing industry. Both case studies are bound to capture the imagination of all attendees in the very topical subject of environmental awareness.

Please watch this space for further updates as we are planning other speakers and events sure to be innovative and capture interest and imagination.

An insight into Quality in the Forensic Science Service presented by Chris Caird - Corporate Quality Manager, Forensic Science Service.

Thanks to Chris for a very well presented view of how quality systems and processes link to the investigations and evaluations of criminal activity. Clearly with today's modern science there are many techniques to trace and seek out real justice. The evening provided an interesting discussion, and a refreshing diverse way on how quality management systems are deployed.

In January 2007 Bob Hughes - Branch secretary gave an overview of PAS-99. The new Public Available Specification that provides a structured approach to Integrated Management Systems. For many years IMS has been around, but PAS-99 was officially launched brought about by organisations asking for a structured and auditable way to link two or more business management systems.
