The future of the Leicester branch
Over the years Branch attendance has been declining and it has been embarrassing to invite learned speakers when only a few members turn up for events.
At the AGM held on 21 May, where only 6 members attended, it was evident that drastic action was necessary, and the following resolution was adopted:
To call another Branch meeting as a last attempt to keep the Branch from closing, but with the criteria for continuing being: a minimum of 10 persons attending and offers to serve on the committee with a view to take over from the current officers, being responsible for organisation and events.
The following meeting has therefore been arranged, and members are strongly encouraged to attend to avoid Branch closure:
Date and Time: Wednesday 10 September 2008, 7.30 for 8.00 pm start
Speaker: Jon Adshead, from the Wates Group, leading a discussion on: 'Business excellence and British Standards, why they do not work in UK Construction'.
This to be followed by discussion on the Branch future regarding the AGM resolution.
