IQA appoints new Diploma in Quality chief examiner
John Davies FIQA has been selected as the new chief examiner to chair the Institute of Quality Assurance (IQA) examination board for the level 4 Diploma in Quality, a national qualification. John's extensive quality-related knowledge and experience has equipped him well for the challenge of contributing to the continual development and improvement of the IQA Diploma in Quality, from content and assessment to standardisation.
John will be tasked with leading and guiding the exams board through the production of assessments, standardisation and awarding. His duties will extend to overseeing the moderation process for coursework and managing the marking scheme.
John comments, "I am excited by the prospect of working with the team of examiners and the education staff at the IQA to achieve the important tasks of maintaining the academic standards of the qualification and enhancing its value to individuals and organisations".
John brings a wealth of skills and experience to this position. From production management to quality management roles within the chemical processing industry, John has been involved with: internal and supplier audits, quality systems, quality circles and statistical process control. His consultancy services range from: implementing ISO 9000 quality systems and systems audits to process improvements and EFQM self-assessment. As a senior lecturer in quality management at Salford University, John has lead the development of the BSc (Hons) quality management programme and taught IQA examination programmes and HNC, HND, BSc and MSc programmes in quality management. This has given him extensive insight into quality topics, modules, syllabus and examinations which will prove invaluable in his new role with IQA.
