Newton Farm excels at the London Excellence Awards

Newton Farm First and Middle School, won the esteemed award for Results Focus at last night's London Excellence Awards presented in partnership with the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI).
The London Excellence Awards celebrates the achievements of organisations committed to quality and business excellence. The awards, based around the European Forum of Quality Management (EFQM) Business Excellence Model, focus on the key elements of quality in business and with awards in innovation, results, customer service, leadership and management systems, companies are assessed on their business standards and work towards achieving excellence.
When commenting on Newton Farm First and Middle School's achievement, Mike Debenham, Executive Director of Policy and Professional Affairs of the CQI, said, "Newton Farm First and Middle School can be commended on their accomplishment; Their enthusiasm and commitment to quality in education has enabled them to not only exceed their targets, but also the standards as set by the Government."
Newton Farm First and Middle School in Harrow, Middlesex, entered the London Excellence Awards to celebrate their school. Whilst battling against challenging circumstances, they teach children to set grand goals and work hard to achieve them and their results have been consistently outstanding over the last ten years.
Rekha Bhakoo, Head Teacher of Newton Farm First and Middle School said, "I am overwhelmed to be the Head Teacher of such an exceptional school and to have won an award such as this. We have won awards in the past within the educational sector, but to be acknowledged for all our hard work at such a prestigious quality and innovation led event, shows huge recognition."
The London Excellence Awards were opened to national organisations for the first time and, with more than 100 people involved in the assessment process, the awards are renowned for their rigour and robust judging method, ensuring only the crème de la crème of UK industry walk away as winners on the night.
As the only learning organisation short listed, Newton Farm School has laid down the gauntlet for Government and the education sector to commit not only to attaining targets but also to setting standards. By winning this impressive award, Newton Farm has shown that the public sector can successfully apply quality tools and make a difference to their organisation as well as society.
