Professional Institutions create Joint Consultants Forum (JCF)
Representatives of a number of professional Institutions (see list below) met on the 12th March and agreed to work together to promote the expertise of their independent consultant members, both to each other and to the broader market place. It is anticipated that other professional Institutions will wish to join in due course. The IQA Management Consultants Register (MCR) was represented by Michael Debenham, the IQA's Professional Affairs Manager and the meeting was hosted by the IEE at Savoy Place. This meeting followed the initial meeting hosted by the IOP in October 2001 and the subsequent meeting hosted by the BCS on 18 June 2002.
The Joint Consultants Forum (JCF) will develop central and regional communities to achieve wider awareness of the value of using qualified consultants and shared benefits through collaborative activities and events. There are valuable opportunities for self-employed professional consultants to complement companies' own knowledge as they seek flexibility and best advice. Internet directories are just one of the ways the meeting recognised for such resources to be tapped.
The IQA MCR welcomes the formation of the JCF and is fully supportive of its aims and aspirations. Indeed, MCR hopes to play an active role in the JCF as this will address one of its main objectives, knowledge sharing, and to this end the IQA is providing Secretarial facilities for the first few meetings. The IQA are currently providing secretarial services to the JCF and are hosting the next meeting on 6th September 2002 at 12 Grosvenor Crescent.
