This statement explains our policy regarding the personal information we collect about you. This statement does not, and is not intended to, create any contractual or other legal rights.

Cookies

This site uses session cookies in two areas - the online store and the members only section. In the store, they are used to keep track of items you have added to your shopping basket. In the members only section they are used to identify you so that you do not have to login again each time you visit a separate page. These cookies are deleted when you close your browser window.

Booking training courses/events/rooms

We use the information you provide when you make an online booking to process your booking and send you joining instructions etc. We may also send you information on other events/courses likely to be of interest to you unless you indicate on the form that you do not want to receive this information.

Purchases via online store

We use the information you provide to contact you regarding your order, and to despatch your purchases. Your credit card details are processed through a secure connection using SSL based pages. We may also send you information on other products/services likely to be of interest to you. Please contact qic@thecqi.org if you do not want information to be sent to you.

Membership data

Membership data submitted through the web site is subject to the same safeguards as information submitted through any other means, and may be used in the same manner. Please contact the Membership Manager for further information on the ways in which the CQI uses membership information.

Branches

Branch secretaries are provided with details of members in their area, solely in order to contact them regarding branch activities.

Google analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. ("Google"). Google Analytics uses "cookies", which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States . The CQI has taken appropriate technical and organisational measures to ensure we have militated against such risks as loss or unauthorised access, destruction, use, modification or disclosure of data.

The CQI provides links to other sites. We have no control over these sites; in particular we have no responsibility for the privacy policies of these sites.

Other information collected

We use your IP address/domain name to collect anonymous aggregated statistics regarding numbers of visitors, countries of origin, pages visited, machine information and other similar site statistics. These statistics cannot be traced back to individual users. We use them to ensure that we are providing a good service to our users, and to keep track of any technical difficulties.

Data protection registration

The CQI is registered with the Information Commissioner in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.
