The CQI/PMI Six Sigma Black Belt conversion

The CQI/PMI six Sigma black belt conversion programme builds upon delegates' prior qualification and experience in the application of variability reduction, leading to much enhanced competence which respects their history. The programme is split into two modules of 5 days, with a month in between each module.

Many hundreds of graduates of PMI's Mastering Process Improvement programme (500 series) and The CQI/PMI six sigma green belt have demonstrated to themselves and their employers the value of systematic variability reduction. PMI six sigma black belt takes the toolset further, giving deployment much higher profile, ensuring that efforts are applied to critical problems and strategic issues, and developing a programme management and support structure. Financial justifications are more rigorous, and close tracking by finance departments has reported gains running into many millions.

What are the benefits?

Delegates will find this a rejuvenating experience, adding new impetus to their capabilities. Upon successful completion of the programme and project delegates will be able to:

  • Develop their existing skills through revision and discussion of their experience.
  • Use the additional six sigma toolset in the project environments of six sigma projects.
  • Use a range of powerful tools additional to those they already know.
  • Communicate in detail with any black belts from major customers who are requiring six sigma performance from their suppliers.
  • Demonstrate and achieve significant benefits to their business.
  • Gain accreditation to black belt status.

Who should attend?

In order to take part delegates must have completed a PMI mastering process improvement programme (500 series) or PMI six sigma green belt programme, and used the methods in process variability reduction work. If you have been six sigma accredited by a provider other than PMI it may be possible (subject to a detailed evaluation and assessment carried out by PMI) for you to take part in the conversion programme -  ask for details.
