Occupational health & safety management systems auditor/lead auditor
Description
This course will enable delegates to undertake effective occupational health and safety management systems audits in all types of commercial and industrial activities, by clearly understanding the requirements of a number of relevant standards such as OHSAS 18001:1999 and other relevant international standards, including ISO 19011:2002 (Guidelines for Auditing).
Course content
- occupational health and safety management systems principles, processes and techniques used for assessment risks and their significance
- purpose, content and interrelationships of ISO 9000:2000 series of standards and OHSAS 18001:1999; guidance documents (OHSAS 18002:2000); industry practices; standard operating procedures; and legislation
- occupational health and safety management system audits for conformance, compliance and improvement
- risk management and operational controls
- compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements
- effectiveness of identifying and managing risks
- emergency preparedness and response
- planning, conducting, reporting and following-up of management systems audits in accordance with ISO 19011:2002

Pre Course Requirements
Delegates are required to have an occupational health and safety background, with an understanding of occupational health and safety legislation, and programmes and principles of identifying, evaluating risks and hazards.
