Statistical sampling and process control (SPC)
Description
This course provides insight into statistical sampling schemes and an introduction to key concepts of statistical process control (SPC). Delegates will gain a good understanding of the tools and methods used to measure and understand process behaviour over time, which can support many quality and business improvement initiatives.
Course content
- understanding of the requirements of ISO and BS standards, such as ISO 2859, BS 6001 and BS 6002 series of standards
- sampling procedures for inspection by attributes vs. variables
- sampling schemes indexed by acceptable quality limit (AQL)
- sampling inspection levels and types
- sampling methodology as a tool for measurement and monitoring within quality management systems
- SPC and ISO 9001:2000 standard process control requirements
- SPC implementation and associated issues
- SPC as a preventative rather than corrective tool
