Supplier relationship management
The aim of this two day course is to provide the delegates with the knowledge and skills required to manage a mutually beneficial relationship with their suppliers. The delegates will obtain an understanding of:
- the importance of the suppliers' performance and its impact on their organisation and its products/services
- the importance of suitable criteria for selection of appropriate suppliers, identification and assessment of impacts and risks associated with each supplier
- the role of effective Service Level Agreements and the effective implementation of the SLAs
- how to evaluate their suppliers effectively, by considering the impacts and risks, and how to use the results to identify and implement the actions for improvement.
The course provides a good understanding of how to implement the requirement for suppliers' selection and evaluation within ISO9001:2000.

- Communicating with your suppliers and improving communication
- Developing and implementing Service Level Agreements
- Supplier selection and discussion of criteria used for selection (based on risk assessment for decision making; and considering quality, environmental, social and economical impacts)
- Degree of verification of the received goods/services, cost, risks, and different approaches taken
- Monitoring of performance (based on output and results, based on outcome and results, based on audits of management system)
- Analysis of performance data, presentation and distribution of results
- Assessment/auditing of suppliers processes/management system
- Planning and conducting effective and constructive suppliers audits/ assessments (based on clear objectives, scope and criteria)
- Appraisals, feedback to suppliers, and actions for continual improvement
